The new version of Ask.com has been dubbed "Ask3D" for its 3-paneled search results which represent the three stages of each search: type a query, review results, and click through to content.
Ask3D is presenting all three steps on a single page, to align more closely with the way people actually search, according to Doug Leeds, VP of product management at Ask.com.
